If I lived close to my mom, I would have made her this french toast for Mother's Day.
But sadly, I live far away. And if I were to make it and send it to her in the mail, I somehow don't think it would be the same.::sigh::
I'm a lucky girl though, I not only have a great mom, but I have a pretty amazing step-mom too.
I also have the world's greatest mother-in-law (remember the Vita-Mix? Yeah, that was her...), a grandmother who uses Facebook, and a series of other strong, beautiful, independent women who I can count on in times of need.
Think of this french toast as my way of saying, thanks.
Thanks a million for all of your support, your love, and your conversations over cups of hot coffee.
And wine...
I love ya'. And if I ever get a chance to become a mama myself, I hope I will be a combination of each and every one of you, wrapped together in a big, home-sweet-home style hug that only moms can give.
Happy Mother's Day- XOXO
This is moving, such a nice post full of love. I called my Mother yesterday and she barked at me tha Mother's Day is a modern invention, that it has no meaning and that she didin't want any wishes. I felt very sad.
ReplyDeleteLuckily my children called me and it was nice to feel their love for me.
What a touching post Nicolette! I'm sure those special ladies in your life will appreciate the gesture, even though they can't taste the toast. I don't live close to my Mum either but she knows I think of her. I'm glad you have such good people in your life.
ReplyDeleteThank you baby! X X O
